Eurax cream contains the active ingredient called Crotamiton 10%. It is used for the relief of itching and skin irritation caused by, for example sunburn,  chickenpox,  allergic rashes, dry eczema, hives, nettle rash, insect bites and stings, heat rashes and personal itching.

Crotamiton works as an antihistamine agent to stop the trigger of the itch. 

Additionally Crotamiton has anti-scabies effect and is toxic to the scabies mites.

Crotamiton, branded as Eurax in the UK, has been in use for many years and the safety and clinical benefits for relieving itch and scabies are established.

Apply to the affected area 2-3 times daily. Irritation will be relieved for 6 to 10 hours.

Possible side effects associated with Eurax Cream use include:

- Eurax cream may cause difficulty in breathing or swallowing; swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat; severe itching of the skin with a red rash or raised bumps. Although uncommon, itching may occur. Also rare are the following side effects: Rash, itchy rash, skin reddening, eczema and swelling of the face or throat.
