Kwells contains Hyoscine hydrobromide as the active substance which works as an effective prevention and control of travel sickness. If your children suffer from motion sickness, Kwells Kids may be the right option to help you manage their symptoms and keep their travel sickness at bay. 

The active ingredient in Kwells is Hyoscine hydrobromide which belongs to a group of medications known as antimuscarinics. These medicines work by preventing the activity of a messenger chemical in the body called acetylcholine. In motion sickness, this chemical is responsible for relaying messages from the motion sensors in the inner ear to the brain. 

Hyoscine hydrobromide prevents these messages from reaching the brain which reduces the confusion caused by the mixed signals from both the eyes and ears. Hyoscine hydrobromide can also prevent signals from the brain reaching the stomach helping to stop nausea and vomiting. 

Kwells (Hyoscine hydrobromide) is particularly effective as it begins to work 20-30 minutes after taking it. This is useful for symptoms that appear rapidly without warning. Kwells tablets can provide relief from motion sickness symptoms for up to 4 hours. 

Give your child one or two tablets every 6 hours, as required. Do not give your child this medicine more than 3 times in 24 hours.

The tablets can be sucked, chewed or swallowed. They have a scoreline so they can be halved if necessary. The tablets can be taken up to 30 minutes before travelling to prevent travel sickness, or even at the onset of nausea.

Possible side effects associated with Kwells (Hyoscine hydrobromide) use include:

 Frequency not known - drowsiness, dizziness, sedation and somnolence are commonly reported, central nervous system stimulation including restlessness, hallucinations and confusion, allergic reaction and anaphylactic reaction, hypersensitivity reactions with respective laboratory and clinical manifestations, including asthma syndrome, mild to moderate reactions affecting skin, respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract, and cardiovascular system, and symptoms such as rash, urticaria, oedema, pruritus, cardio-respiratory distress, hyperthermia at high temperatures due to decreased sweating, blurred vision, mydriasis, dry mouth
