ellaOne is a single dose emergency contraception pill that contains the active ingredient Ulipristal acetate. It is a suitable means of EC for women of childbearing age and can be taken at any time during a woman’s menstrual cycle. Ella One is one of the most effective morning after pill available in Europe and it can successfully prevent pregnancy when taken up to 5 days (120 hours) after unprotected sex.

Levonelle is another emergency contraceptive tablet for women aged 16 and above. It contains the active ingredient Levonorgestrel (1.5mg). Levonorgestrel is a synthetic hormone that mimics the activity of progesterone in the body to help prevent pregnancy. Levonelle is very effective and is suitable for use within 72 hours of unprotected sex or failure of contraceptive method.

Lovima is a progestogen-only contraceptive pill containing Desogestrel 75 microgram. Lovima is now available as an Over The Counter (OTC) medicine that you can purchase from pharmacies after consultation with the pharmacist. Lovima is taken on a daily basis at the same time each day without a break. Not suitable if you are allergic to peanut or soya.
Lovima has the same active ingredient as Cerazette, Cerelle, Desomono, Desorex, Feanolla, Moonia, Zelleta in the UK.
